[MinnowBoard] How to get HDMI audio to work on MinnowBoard MAX (under Linux)?

Hi Gerard,
I have viewed the schematics on Minnowboard Max and the HD Audio is not connected at all. The LP Audio (Low Power Audio) is connected however.
To get HDMI audio to work, you need the get either the HD Audio or LP Audio to work. On the Minnowboard Max you thus need to use the LP Audio. The normal scenario for Linux (HD Audio and HDMI) are not available for Minnowboard Max.
To use the LP Audio, your firmware needs to setup LP Audio correctly. You need a driver in Linux that support LP audio as well. Once you have a working LP audio in Linux it can be directed to the HDMI port.
Best regards,
B-O

Regarding LP and HD audio, they share some logic and can thus not be used simultaneously. You have to choose. There could be some constraint for HDMI audio as well. You need to check with documentation. Also check the schematics and see if audio is routed to HDMI. If it is, you probably can do some settings in the firmware that makes it work.
