[MinnowBoard] Max uefi ver 0.71 and CentOS 7

I received the Max Dual core in September and hadn’t have the
opportunity to work on it until now (Health issues). I don't want to
brick the board, so I left the uefi update until I finish my experiments.

Plugged a SanDisk 256GB SSD to the USB3 port and installed CentOS 7 on
it. (Need to get a connector for J2 to be able to use the SSD with the
SATA port as I understand the SSD only requires 5 Volts). After much
toiling, I have been able to get it working with the MATE Desktop
environment (http://jensd.be/?p=125). Got Oracle's Java 8 also working.

I would like to understand a bit more the file system of the
installation. Right now, the system tells me that the only device is a
USB stick if I plug one in, but the SSD is treated a part of the
computer system.

I did not partition the SSD during installation, but now I find the disk
split 200GB/50GB with the big chunk used for the only user I have
implemented and the rest for root. Can anyone point to me where in the
documentation I can learn more about this? Also, the SSD does not show
under devices. The only device I see right now is a USB stick I have
plugged in the USB port.

I'm not a big expert on OSs nor Computer Architecture, but enough to be
dangerous sometimes. I'm trying to understand this behaviour and as I
said, if someone knows where to read about this, and learn more about
the interaction of the Max architecture with the Linux OS.

Thanks,

Luism
