Hooking up a keyboard and mashing F2 during boot-up has been the best way to get into the firmware for me. Alternately booting it without any storage attached seems to get it to fallback into the UEFI shell. You can exit the shell and get into the FW settings menus from there.

Subject: [MinnowBoard] Fastboot issue
Is there a way to get back into the efi to disable fastboot? I tried turning it on and now I can't see to get back into it to change any settings.
