$B7oL>(B: RE: Embedded Linux Leadership Summit (ELLS) followup

Hey Embedded Linux Leaders,

Indeed. Thanks Megan and Phillip for following up on this. I'll intersperse
some status and proposals below.

> I hope that I subscribed to the CE Linux mailing list, which Tim proposed and

Well, I got the e-mail list all prepared, and I believe a number of people subscribed,
but then I failed to follow up with e-mails to the list. This message is
CCed to the list (elinux-discuss@lists.elinux.org).

In order to avoid spamming people, and open up the conversations to other interested parties,
I will start dropping individual addresses in future messages in this (and other) threads.

> I am not aware about a follow up, and was so busy before OSS NA, that I missed to drop such a mail on the mailing list before OSS NA.
No problem. I should have been on top of it.

>
> Should we consider a meeting in Vienna during the shorter ELC at OSS EU?
> Maybe many of us will be there (or at plumbers following OSS EU)?

I'm willing to set up an Embedded Linux Leadership Summit (ELLS) in Vienna.
I can probably get a meeting room there. I may have a little bit of money still at my disposal
from the remnants of the CE Linux Project. Or, if someone has a sponsor room that they
can spare for a 1-hour (or so) meeting, we could use that.

Or, some other ideas are to open this up as a BOF at either ELC or LPC in Vienna
(instead of a private meeting like we had in Prague).
I discussed ELLS at an embedded BOF last year in Plumbers, and a few kernel
community members gave feedback that they thought it should be more open.

I'm still working on an embedded micro-conference at LPC. That, however, is focused
specifically on boot time. The LPC BOF slots have not opened for proposals yet (I think),
and we have not done the program review for ELC BOFs yet (so I might be able to slip
one in.)

I think it would be good to follow up. Maybe if I had been communicating with this
group more regularly, we could have avoided the unfortunate collision of ELC Europe with
Embedded Recipes this year.

In any event, please let me know (by replying to this email):
1) if you think it would be good to try to meet in Vienna in September, and
2) whether you think this should be a private, invitation-only meeting again,
or a more public BOF-style meeting.

Thanks,
