[MinnowBoard] How do I know if there is power going to my Silverjaw lure?

As requested by David, I’ve created a write up on the wiki on how to connect the PCIe-SSD on Minnowboard Max.
Please let me know if you have any questions about it.

Absolutely! I’ll have some information posted on the wiki soon.

Vasanthi,

Would it be possible for you to post some information, i.e. block diagram, part numbers, pictures, of your setup on elinux.org wiki?

I think a lot of people would be interesting in how you got this work!

Dave

After upgrading the firmware and changing the power supply to a 5V,3.2A, I was able to see the PCIe SSD.
Thanks all for your help!

I had to go to 0.79 on the main bios from here - http://firmware.intel.com/projects/minnowboard-max

I was at an earlier version and this was the latest at the time.

Thank you all for your helpful tips.

My power supply is only 5V, 2A. I should up it to 3A or 4A as suggested by some of you.

I do have a separate power supply for the adapter and have ensured it is connected to the mPCIe slot.

@Jeremy, do you remember what version of firmware you updated to? I’m using the core-sato-sdk image from the wiki page and I think that’s at 3.19.

Thanks!
Vasanthi

I had this problem before, and one my board.. it seems the high speed connector wasn't working well. Running a 3 Amp power supply with help, also, on the board you should be able to check for power at a few test points (they where labeled I thought). Also, I needed a firmware update to help it work too.

Hi all
Is there a way to tell if my silverjaw lure has power going to it when I connect it to the Minnowboard Max? I don't see any led lights turn on.

I have a rather unusual setup with my minnowboard max. I'm trying to connect a NVMe PCIe SSD to the silverjaw lure by using a "PCIe x1 to mPCIe" adapter on the mPCIe slot.
I'm not able to see this SSD. As a first step, I'm trying to see if there are any power issues.

Thanks!
Vasanthi
