Think of a replacement for something like these:

http://pcengines.ch/alix2d3.htm
http://pcengines.ch/apu.htm
http://routerboard.com/RB450G

those are very much from the embedded world. Then put something like 
https://openwrt.org/ on it.

There's a fair bit of potential for small, low power, SBCs in this 
area, especially when they have enough resources and are not locked 
into a single OS. It's probably key that they have multiple wired 
network ports, preferably gigabit. 
The popularity of OpenWRT shows the potential.  

So far most of the Arm boards you're competing against are only 
missing the multiple network ports aspect, but that'll change sooner 
or later.
